Release Product of Linux Distribution
“AB Linux” for Embed and Thin Client “FKEY2007″
Applied Electronics Corporation released Linux Distribution “AB Linux” which is able to embed into USB memory device and thin client USB memory device “FKEY2007″. We will announce that exhibition and explanation of this product at Interop TOKYO 2007 convened at Makuhari Messe.
“AB Linux” was developed by Yuichiro Nakata – Director of Embedded Linux Laboratory of AEC. This is based on Berry Linux which has strong function of Japanese conversion processing. Also, this is able to embed into various removable memory media, and to correspond to wireless LAN, data communication service of major communication careers. In addition, this keeps correspondence to VPN (Virtual Private Network) systems, various software and hardware products. The minimum lot of license we intend to sale is 1,000, and we aim to sale 80,000 licenses at the first year.
From now on, “AB Linux” will extend applications for various types of mobile device such as Cell-Phone, PDA, in addition, home electric appliances with internet and vehicle computer. And it is going to realize to be a tool of Ubiquitous computing.
FKEY2007 is a simple tool to make thin client system on PC. It is made of USB memory device with fingerprinting-authentication, which AB Linux is embedded into. This is able to prevent information leakage by combination with VPN system and Server Based Computing (Windows Terminal Service or Citrix Presentation Server), at the same time, it can make mobile use of PC in business. Its characteristic is correspondence to many VPN products and to various types of PC. We aim to sale 8,000 pieces at the first year.
